David Nichols and Neil bannister were both evacuated here in the Second World War to their grandparents house fanny and earnest george Downes which was then called 2 Albany villas now 33 Portfield street. David certainly attended st. James junior school. Also whilst they lived here a bomb went through the roof and landed in the back(main then) bedroom, we thought it maybe due to our proximity to the railway at the end of my garden. The two cousins visited here last summer and then sent a few photos of their family and the garden. Not sure how interested you would be in this
