The first recording of local memories reveals tales of old shops (Goodman’s, Myra’s in Park Street, and Eign Road cake shop), schools (Park Street and Manor House), Walker’s Dairy in Eign Mill Road, the Bartonsham hay harvest and the ‘plane crash off Harold Street.
Who has old photos to accompany these vivid memories?
BHG will be at St. James Church this Saturday with a pop-up display of local history. 10.30 – 4.00. (Can you spare a half hour to meet and greet? Volunteers needed from 12.30). Can you name anyone in the picture above? Pop along this Saturday and fill in the details.
We’ll be taking orders for copies of the 1888 and 1932 street maps (£6 each). Find your home on these unique records and raise funds for BHG!
