Founded in 2014, we are an enthusiastic group of residents in and around Bartonsham, Hereford, UK, interested in local, social history. The fun includes walks, talks, drinks, pop-up exhibitions, research, a lively Facebook page and this website.

We generally hold regular monthly meetings - visit the website or check Facebook for details.  Some will be an informal catchup  and others will be events such as a talk, film or visit.   - All welcome.

New Events coming soon

Bartonsham Big Apple

Bartonsham History Group has been awarded £6415.45 for the Bartonsham Big Apple project.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is administered by Herefordshire County Council. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

There will be a number of events held from November to January including:
  • 3 performances of the new play, Cider Riots performed by the Bartonsham Players.
  • Wassail Cup making at Cup Ceramics
  • Lantern and Withy Model making at the Scout Hut, Sign Road
  • Poetry and Craft Workshops at St James School
  • Wassail procession and dancing accompanied by local musicians, The Pickled Onion Band.​
