Andy Tatchell talks about Mordiford Mill

Tuesday 12th April 7.30pm. The Barrels, St Owen Street

Andy has been restoring Mordiford Water Mill, since the 1980s.
His talk will cover the history of the mill and its millers, and what he has been doing to repair the building and its machinery.

During National Mills weekend on 7th and 8th of May there will be an open day at the mill with guided tours.

On the 2nd of June 1953 the local community of Bartonsham celebrated the coronation of Queen Elizabeth with street parties, and posed for this group photo at Scout Corner. We know that some of the younger people in the picture, now grown up, are still here.

Sixty nine years later at the platinum anniversary this June, its possible there maybe more celebrations with community parties, and Bartonsham history group are hoping to to recreate this community group picture, with the current community.

Do you remember it? Maybe you are a relative of someone in the picture, or a new family in the neighbourhood. Which ever, we would love you to be involved in recreating a new version of this group photo for this years anniversary.
