Are you a long term resident of St James and Bartonsham? Do you have any special memories of Bartonsham Meadows, or the 'Bassom', as locals used to call it. Maybe you used to be involved in Haymaking? or perhaps you used to swim at 'The Bassom' bathing hut?

I remember a hollow tree in the middle of one of the fields. We used to play in it. I grew up in green st and spent many many hours playing and wandering around here. We issued to hand feed the more tamer cows grass and pet them. The farmer was great and so tolerant of us kids and we never got approached or told to stick to certain areas.
